Planned Giving

Help ensure no one has to face cancer or grief alone – now and for years to come.

By including Gilda’s Club in your estate plan, you can combine your desire to give to charity with overall financial, tax and estate planning goals. You’ll also become a member of Gilda’s Club’s Legacy Circle.

Why Gilda’s Club?

Michelle & Kevin Bassett
Gilda’s Club has a special place in the hearts of Kevin and Michelle Bassett.  Michelle and her family first accessed Gilda’s cancer support program in 2000 when Michelle’s first husband, Dwight Reed, was diagnosed with cancer. In 2002, it helped them walk through their grief journey when Dwight died from his cancer diagnosis. When Michelle and Kevin later married, she shared her passion for Gilda’s mission and her gratitude for the impact Gilda’s had made in the lives of her family members as they walked through dark days. When Michelle was diagnosed in 2017 with a AL amyloidosis, a rare blood cancer, they immediately sought support from Gilda’s Club and again drew courage, strength and hope as Michelle underwent chemotherapy and, later, a successful stem cell transplant.
The Bassetts decision to include Gilda’s Club in their estate plan was an easy one and was made with conviction and deep gratitude.
“The caring, compassionate support that we have received through Gilda’s Club has truly shaped the way we have approached and dealt with some of life’s toughest circumstances and emotions.”
Making Your Planned Gift to Gilda’s Club Grand Rapids

Should you choose to include Gilda’s Club Grand Rapids in your will, some other estate planning vehicle or if you have already included us in your estate plans, we would be honored to know of your intentions and welcome you as a member of our Legacy Circle.

Bequests from a will or trust are the most common way to leave a gift to Gilda’s Club. Some Legacy Circle members set aside a certain dollar amount, while others leave a percentage of the estate or assets left over after providing for their family. Others have made our organization the beneficiary of a 401K/IRA plan, insurance policy, Charitable Gift Annuity or Charitable Remainder Trust with Gilda’s Club Grand Rapids. Our Planned Giving program offers you the opportunity to customize your own plan for including Gilda’s Club Grand Rapids in your estate.
