Our volunteers are passionate, inspired and making a difference in the lives of those affected by cancer or grief in West Michigan.  Whether you can spare a few hours a week or can make a more significant time commitment, please consider becoming a Gilda’s Club Grand Rapids volunteer.

Gilda's Club Volunteer
Ambassador
Share all things Gilda’s here at the clubhouse as well as at special events and community fair information booths. Distribute promotional materials, provide tours of our clubhouse to guests and encourage individuals to consider becoming members or get involved with Gilda’s Club.
Senior Volunteer
Cards
Hand-write thinking of you, thank you and bereavement messaging in cards for members, donors, sponsors, volunteers, etc. Language and cards provided. Other opportunities include the creation of decorative hand-made cards.

Desk Receptionist
Be the first face when people walk through our red doors! Help provide a warm and welcoming clubhouse environment by greeting and assisting our members at the front desk, answering the phone and assist with staff projects.
West Side Walk Volunteer
Events
Provide day of volunteer support for our fundraising events like the West Side Walk or Gilda’s Club Open. Typical roles include greeting, registration, set up/tear down, activities, transportation and event photography. Planning committee opportunities are also available.
House & Grounds
Help keep the Grand Rapids clubhouse and grounds warm and welcoming through cleaning, organization and decorating of indoor spaces. This team also helps keep our surrounding gardens, pathways and flowerbeds on the grounds looking their best.
Gilda's Club Member
It's Always Something
As Gilda said, “It’s Always Something!” Be on call to help with short-notice requests, last-minute projects, assist with special projects and reinforce volunteers at events.
Knit, Sew or Quilt
Create handmade items to be given to Gilda’s Club adult and children members. Needs include shawls, lap blankets, chemo caps, tooth pouches and more.
Mailing
Assist with preparing the Gilda’s Club bi-monthly program calendar mailing and with other event-related or fundraising-related mailings.
Gilda's Club Meal Volunteers
Meal
Help prepare and serve the evening meal to members as well as clean up afterward. Bring food from home prior to a meal or do a ‘kitchen takeover’ in the  afternoon and prepare an appetizer, salad, and/or dessert for our members.
Office
Assist Gilda’s Club staff in office with administrative work and projects including office organization, phone calls, hands-on projects and database updating. Office and computer experience preferred.
Noogieland
Noogieland
Actively engage in play and supervision of children aged up to eight years of age in our play area, Noogieland. Assist program staff facilitating age appropriate activities aimed at teaching kids positive coping skills as they face some of life’s toughest stuff.
Ukulele Instructor
Program Instructor
Specialized volunteers able to host workshops, teach classes and/or give educational lectures for Gilda’s Club members.
Gilda's Club Volunteer
Transportation & Errands
Transportation opportunities include driving shuttles and golf carts at special events or moving supplies. Errands range from delivering Gilda’s Club programs to area hospitals and doctor’s offices to helping shop for supplies needed by staff.
Gilda's Club Youth Program
Youth Program
Assist program staff in the facilitation of cancer and grief programming and activities for teens/tweens ages eight to 18.

Please note: Gilda’s Club welcomes volunteers 16 and older. Individuals aged 15 and younger may be permitted to volunteer with Gilda’s Club. This is to be determined on a case by case basis, and requires a guardian/parent to volunteer alongside the child.
