Gilda's Club Grand Rapids - Position Posting – VP of Operations
Gilda's Club Grand Rapids is a free emotional health support community where children and adults, families and friends, find their smiles and laughter in the midst of a cancer or grief journey.
The VP of Operations is responsible for the oversight of building/facilities, office operations, IT, human resources, and the financial aspects of Gilda's Club Grand Rapids. As part of the executive leadership team, the VP of Operations will be instrumental in maintaining the integrity of the mission of Gilda's Club Grand Rapids and in helping to meet the organization's critical issues, goals and strategies.
Essential responsibilities for the VP of Operations position include but are not limited to:
- Oversee and handle all aspects of the day-to-day financial aspects of Gilda's Club Grand Rapids, and its sister non-profit
- Talent management, including oversight of hiring, onboarding and professional development
- Oversee all hardware and software needs for the organization, working in concert with the IT Consultant
- Ensure facilities and grounds upkeep, planning for improvements/maintenance
- Oversee and guide office operations and processes
Direct reports will include: Finance Director, Building Manager, and Business Manager. Relationship responsibilities include IT Consultant, facility partners, others.
Successful candidate will possess minimum of 8 to 10 years previous experience in similar non-profit position. Master's degree preferred; Bachelor's degree required. Excellent knowledge of non-profit specific accounting practices and management of accrual bookkeeping. Excellent communication skills. People/team oriented with outstanding ability to connect with others, convey sensitivity and show empathy, compassion, warmth and grace. Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented and able to handle many projects and people at once. Strong people, leadership, and communication skills required. Must enjoy a fast-paced environment, be flexible and team oriented. Passion for the mission of emotional health and for supporting families living with cancer and grief is a must.
